:: The Shield and The North America Wall

El Capitan 1 was one of my climbing dreams. First time I went there in 1984, when Slavc Sveticic and me I climbed The Shield 2 .
In the pitch above the great roof 3 I took a very unlucky fall: I landed on my nose 4 and I broke it. Descent would be very complicated, so we continued up the overhanging slabs 5 and the fourth day we reached the top.

Next year I came with Peter Podgornik. First we went to Regular NW Face in Half Dome 6 We enjoyed the climb, but the next route was a harder experience: in The North America Wall 7 in El Cap we climbed in the rain and snow... October is sometimes too late for Yosemite big wall...
